The damage on the left is a hole that has been chewed by a rat the wood is actually 3 inches thick . A rat chewed through the wood in one evening allowing it to gain entry into a dog kennels where it then went on to chew through 3 sacks of dog feed the then had to be thrown away due to the risk of contamination .
